An easy way to keep Wyndham Rewards points from expiring or being forfeited

Hotels seem to have different points expiration policies. There are a couple of important expiration policies with Wyndham Rewards:

  1. Wyndham Rewards points expire 4 years after being earned.
  2. They are forfeited if there is no activity in your account within 18 months.
You can find your expiring points in your Wyndham account

Here’s an easy way to overcome both of these expiration policies. With the recent Wyndham merger with LaQuinta, you can freely exchange Wyndham Rewards with LaQuinta Returns points or vice versa.

  1. Transfer your expiring Wyndham points from Wyndham to LaQuinta using this link.
  2. Transfer them back to Wyndham using this link.

This counts as activity in the account and resets both expiration dates. Points can be transferred in increments of 1000. It’s that simple and I can confirm that it works.
